PVC Water Stop Seals

PVC water stops are for utilization in concrete joints subjected to hydrostatic pressure. In the wake of being inserted in cement, PVC water stop top off the joints to shape a consistent watertight diaphragm that keeps the passage of liquid. Different Types of PVC water stop seal

• Dumbbell – Dumbbell is suitable for partial, construction and kicker and contraction joints, where no shear move is possible. It is an ideal for construction joints where no movements are expected. With the largest and thickest profile, the dumbbell water stops can be utilized in manufacturing applications. Meanwhile, it can be heat welded. 

• Dumbbell with Centre Bulb – It is Suitable for contraction expansion joints, subsidence, including high movement joints. It is Ideal for construction, on grade joints at wall / slab junctions, control and spread joints. Largest and thickest profiles make this water stop ideal for industrial applications. 

• Ribbed flat – It is Ideal for construction joints with little or no movement. The ribs effectively enhance the bond strength between water stop and surrounding concrete; meanwhile, it also improves water sealing capability of water stops.

• Ribbed with center bulb - Ideal for expansion, construction, control joints and other joints with shear movements. Generally, the larger the center bulbs are the greater movements the water stops will accommodate. At the same time, the ribs not only create the concrete and water stop bonding together, but also provide a lengthy liquid-flow path for water-proofing.

• Ribbed with tear web – It is Ideal for spread joints with big movements such as tank ring foundations. The tear web water stops features its U-shaped center bulb which will tear when being subjected to big movements for example differential settlements and joint expansion. Additionally, the ribs effectively improve the contact surface between PVC water stop seals and concrete, therefore the water stop can hold the surrounding concrete firmly than others without ribs.

• Base seal – Base seal is ideal for control, expansion joints, construction and contraction, flat pavement jobs. For example, they are appropriate for runways, large containments slabs, concrete walls, backfilled retaining walls, etc. Base seal water stop is easiest to install, as well as can be heated-welded by standard splicing iron.

• Split water stop - 

              1. Split dumbbell: It is ideal for construction joints with no movements;
              2. Split ribbed: ideal for expansion moving joints on or below grade.

• Cap water stop – It is ideal for expansion joints with expansion boards. Acting as a fluid tight internal seal, the cap water stop is long lasting and attractive to be installed on the top of spread joints. At the same time, it efficiently speeds up the project schedules.
